At Stoke, we believe a thriving space economy will enable a vibrant, sustainable, and equitable future here on Earth. That is why we’re building Nova, our fully and rapidly reusable launch vehicle. Designed for daily flight, Nova tackles the core challenges of space transportation by reducing cost, increasing availability, and improving reliability. By radically lowering launch costs and increasing flight cadence, we’re helping create a truly scalable space industry.

Our team is mission-driven, collaborative, and empowered to take ownership of their work. If you want to work alongside some of the most dedicated and talented people on Earth, we’d love to have you join us.

Description<span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

Reusable systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. As a Dynamic Environments Engineer at Stoke, you will own and define the dynamic environments strategy and be responsible for providing vibration, shock, and acoustic environments for the launch vehicle. This will include analytical work developing physics-based vibroacoustics models, supporting test efforts through instrumentation selection and data reduction, and hands-on support of component tests. You will work closely with other engineers throughout Stoke to accomplish these objectives. You will serve as a technical authority on vibroacoustics, driving decisions and establishing best practices. As part of a small, well-supported team, you will have access to the resources you need to get the job done right while impacting multiple launch vehicle systems simultaneously. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.<span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

Responsibilities<span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

Support engine and structural tests through instrumentation selection, placement, and data review to characterize dynamic environments (vibration, shock, acoustics)<span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

Own and drive development of dynamic environment requirements across the vehicle, including test and modeling efforts <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

Own and develop component test levels and support component qualification vibe and shock campaigns by providing hands-on execution support and review of test data<span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

Define acoustic and structure-borne forcing functions for driving flight vibroacoustic events<span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

Develop finite element models for modal and vibroacoustic models<span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

Use vibroacoustic analysis software to develop models, reduce data, and perform vibration and acoustic analysis<span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

Develop data reduction and analysis tools and templates to improve efficiency of dynamic environments analysis<span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

Drive cross-functional teams to improve designs and tests based on vibroacoustics<span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

Document best practices and lessons learned

Required Qualifications<span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field<span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

8+ years of professional experience<span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

5+ years of experience in dynamic environments or structural dynamics<span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":240}">

Experience with NASTRAN or similar for dynamic analyses, especially modal<s
