<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p> <p>Responsible for consistently supplying support service for the Histology Laboratory which will enable the department to function more efficient and effectively.</p> <p><strong>Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Accessions specimens brought into the laboratory for processing</li> <li>Assists PA’s or pathologists with grossing in specimens</li> <li>Loading, changing, cleaning and troubleshooting histology processors</li> <li>Decalcification process of bone specimens</li> <li>Cover slipping and routine H&E staining</li> <li>Perform IHC testing, if qualified</li> <li>Performs embedding and Microtomy</li> <li>Performs and monitors quality control within predetermined limits</li> <li>Organizes work and activities to achieve maximum productivity</li> <li>Demonstrates professional conduct and interpersonal communication skills with patients, laboratory personnel, and other health care professionals</li> <li>Maintains a safe working environment, compliant with established policies and procedures of regulatory agencies, and responds positively to necessary changes in the workplace</li> <li>Complies with organization and department policies and procedures, participates in programs and activities to achieve the mission of the laboratory and assume responsibility for professional growth and development</li> <li>Responsible compliance with all ISO, OSHA, CAP, safety, and HIPAA regulations presented in training provided by Precision.</li> <li>Keep all grossing stations stocked with Histology supplies.</li> <li>Discard formalin fixed tissues.</li> <li>Dispose of red bag trash.</li> <li>Wash glassware according to protocol.</li> <li>Perform all other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <p>Minimum Required:</p> <p>High School diploma and 2+ years of related experience</p> <p>Other Required:</p> <ul> <li>Visual acuity and above average dexterity.</li> <li>At times may come in contact with viral and bacterial infections, exposure to blood borne pathogens and occasional exposure to toxic substances.</li> <li>Capable of a moderate amount of walking, standing, and/or sitting.</li> <li>Ability to stand, sit, walk, minimum lifting (no more than 20 lbs), bending, stooping, normal or corrected visual, hearing and good manual dexterity are required.</li> <li>Ability to lift or carry no more than 20 pounds or pull or push no more than 50 pounds.</li> <li>Must be able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description">Precision is required by law in some states or cities to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
