Your focus will be on the shared platform infrastructure behind content experimentation, event tracking, and app-start fidelity. You will be a part of our Growth Infrastructure team, a horizontal platform team that supports Growth engineering across all of onX's verticals (Hunt, Offroad, Backcountry, Fish). This is a great opportunity to be a part of a dynamic, growing company focused on making an impact on the business, and to build infrastructure that other Growth teams rely on directly. This role will serve as a core backend contributor at onX and will report to the Growth Infrastructure Engineering Manager.</p> <h3>WHAT YOU'LL DO<br><em><sup>Essential Job Duties & Functions</sup></em></h3> <ul> <li>Build and maintain scalable services supporting Growth Infrastructure initiatives, including content experimentation and event tracking</li> <li>Write unit, integration, and acceptance tests</li> <li>Participate in architectural discussions and contribute design proposals for our services</li> <li>Collaborate effectively with other engineers, PMs, and cross-functional stakeholders (mobile, BI, marketing)</li> <li>Leverage and extend existing onX services rather than reinventing them</li> <li>Proactively identify and use AI workflows that increase velocity while not degrading quality.</li> <li>Participate in an on-call rotation to support backend services after work hours</li> </ul> <h3>WHAT YOU’LL BRING</h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience</li> <li>5+ years of professional software development experience, primarily in API development, is required</li> <li>A shared passion for and ability to demonstrate onX's Company Values</li> <li>Permanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onX</li> <li>Ability to travel quarterly for multiple days to a corporate office or other onX strategic location, such as a Basecamp</li> </ul> <h3>ADDED BONUSES</h3> <p>Though not required, we would be thrilled to consider candidates with any of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Go or similar backend languages</li> <li>Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform</li> <li>Familiarity with a major cloud platform (Google Cloud Platform preferred)</li> <li>Exposure to A/B testing or experimentation platforms (e.g., Eppo)</li> </ul> <h3>THE ONX EXPERIENCE</h3> <p>onX is a distributed company with more than 400 employees across the country.
