Within our Pricing service team, you will design and implement the mission-critical core engines that ingest usage telemetry, evaluate dynamic pricing models, enforce feature entitlements, and power cost analytics dashboards for enterprise customers.</p> <h3>The work you’ll do</h3> <ul> <li>Design and implement critical, high-performance microservices to process, aggregate, and reconcile usage telemetry at massive scale with exact-once processing semantics.</li> <li>Evangelize best practices in distributed database usage, stream processing, and event-driven end-to-end architecture.</li> <li>Set an example for, mentor, and grow your teammates across engineering initiatives.</li> <li>Recognize and take action to improve system reliability, developer work environments, and CI/CD pipelines.</li> <li>Write clean, understandable, fault-tolerant, and testable code for billing-critical systems.</li> <li>Provide thoughtful feedback on technical designs, data schemas, and code reviews of peers.</li> <li>Manage individual project priorities, architecture decision records (ADRs), deadlines, and deliverables.</li> <li>Document development procedures, metering contracts, system concepts, and domain knowledge.</li> <li>Build, launch, and maintain business-critical backend services in production across multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).</li> <li>Help define a fun, inclusive, and execution-driven engineering culture.</li> </ul> <h3>The qualifications you need</h3> <ul> <li>BS in Computer Science or related technical field; Master's or Ph.D. preferred.</li> <li>5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building enterprise-grade backend services.</li> <li>Experienced in backend development using Java (Spring Boot framework expertise preferred).</li> <li>Strong background in real-time stream processing, message queues, or event-driven systems (e.g., Apache Kafka, Flink).</li> <li>Familiar with relational and non-relational database design (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redis) with a focus on data accuracy and idempotency.</li> <li>Familiar with containerization and cloud orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure).</li> <li>Preferred experience or strong interest in consumption-based pricing, metering infrastructure, financial ledgers, or billing integrations.</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><span data-sheets-value="{"1":2,"2":"For positions in New York City only: We offer a base salary range of xxx – xxx, based on a Full Time Schedule. \n\nTotal compensation package will include base salary + bonus/commission + equity + benefits (health, dental, life, 401k, and paid time off).
