Working alongside Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Engineers, you'll design the pipelines, models, and systems that power analytics, experimentation, AI and product decisions across Goodnotes.</p> <p>You'll set the direction for the platform and how we build it: make the architecture calls, explain them, and bring engineers and stakeholders along without formal authority. You'll use AI to improve engineering productivity, automate repetitive work and keep the platform scalable, reliable and easy for others to use.</p> <ul> <li>This is a hybrid role based in our Singapore office. This position will initially be a 1-year fixed-term contract.</li> </ul> <h3>This is the role for you if you're excited to work on:</h3> <p> </p> <p> </p> <ul> <li><strong>Data pipeline engineering: </strong>Build reliable, scalable data pipelines and data models, with the testing, monitoring and lineage that keep them trustworthy.</li> <li><strong>Cloud-native platform design</strong>: Design a modern data platform using technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, Iceberg, and ClickHouse on AWS.</li> <li><strong>Real-time data systems:</strong> Design and build streaming pipelines and processing systems that power real-time analytics, event processing, and AI-driven products.</li> <li><strong>Self-service analytics:</strong> Enable teams across Goodnotes to discover, understand and consume data independently.</li> <li><strong>Leverage AI:</strong> Become a more effective engineer and continuously improve how the data platform is built, operated, and maintained.</li> <li><strong>Leading through influence:</strong> Take a clear position on architecture and trade-offs, and get Product Engineers, Analytics Engineers and Data Scientists behind it.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <h3>The skills you will need to be successful:</h3> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Significant experience as a senior or lead Data Engineer, including setting the technical direction for a data platform.</li> <li>Strong SQL skills and experience designing scalable data pipelines and data models.</li> <li>Experience designing and operating modern cloud-native data platforms on AWS.</li> <li>Experience building batch and streaming data platforms using technologies such as Kafka, Confluent, Apache Pulsar, or similar messaging systems.</li> <li>Strong understanding of data quality, testing, monitoring, observability, and operational excellence.</li> <li>You've changed a technical decision through influence rather than authority, and can explain how.</li> <li>A strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and a passion for building simple solutions to complex problems.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <h3>Preferred:</h3> <ul> <li>Experience with <strong>dbt</strong> and modern analytics engineering practices.</li> <li>Experience with <strong>Snowflake</strong> or another modern cloud data warehouse.</li> <li>Experience with technologies such as <strong>ClickHouse</strong>, <strong>Apache Iceberg</strong>, or modern lakehouse architectures.</li> <li>Experience applying AI to improve engineering productivity and build more intelligent, efficient, and scalable data platforms.</li> </ul> <h3>The interview process:</h3> <ul> <li><strong>Talent Intro Call:</strong> A conversation with our Talent Acquisition team to dive into your experience, what motivates you, and why you're interested in joining Goodnotes.</li> <li><strong>Take Home Assignment</strong><strong>: </strong>A project for you to complete at home that w
