This individual will serve a key function in overseeing and driving the growth of Langan's Environmental Practice identifying and managing environmental/engineering projects and proposals, conducting engineering research and analysis, and supervising field investigations and laboratory analysis. In this role, you will have the opportunity to leverage Langan's robust technical expertise and leadership presence in the Calgary, AB market, manage diverse projects, and fuel the further expansion of an innovate and industry-renowned practice.</span></p> <p> </p> <h2>Job Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Lead the identification and pursuit of new clients, develop additional work within an existing project and attend business development meetings with new and existing clients;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to Environmental projects. Participate in interviewing and hiring staff;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Management of junior staff, senior staff, and project managers; </span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Manage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Perform complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Supervise field activities and ensure correct interpretations of findings. Ensure that data collection and laboratory analyses are completed correctly, within budget, and on time;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Effectively organize, write, and edit reports, draft proposals, and other documents;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Coordinate other work groups within the same or different office locations and/or within the same or different disciplines on an as-needed basis; and</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Perform other duties as requested.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">15+ years of progressive experience leading environmental assessment, site investigation, remediation, reclamation, and regulatory compliance projects in Canada, preferably within Alberta and Western Canada.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong knowledge of applicable federal, provincial, and municipal environmental regulations, including Alberta Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA), Water Act, Contaminated Sites policies, and relevant Canadian environmental legislation and guidelines.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Professional designation in good standing, such as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA, Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) with APEGA, or other relevant environmental professional designation recognized in Alberta.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary
