The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.</p></div><p>We're looking for a backend engineer to build the services and infrastructure behind Figure's consumer mobile application, including auth, payments, and tooling.</p> <p>You'll own systems end to end, from identity and billing to delivery pipelines, internal dashboards, and the cloud platform they run on.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities: </strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Design and build the core auth and identity service, including KYC integration.</p> </li> <li> <p>Build payments and billing infrastructure: payouts, transactions, disputes, and reconciliation.</p> </li> <li> <p>Own the media ingestion and delivery pipeline for high-volume data ingestion.</p> </li> <li> <p>Own the cloud platform: environments, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, and cost.</p> </li> <li> <p>Ship the notification system across push, SMS, and email.</p> </li> <li> <p>Build the web interface and dashboards that give the business visibility into tasks, supply, and quality.</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements: </strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>5+ years building production backend systems at scale.</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong distributed systems fundamentals: APIs, queues, storage, and event-driven architecture.</p> </li> <li> <p>Hands-on experience with payments, billing, or fintech infrastructure.</p> </li> <li> <p>Hands-on infrastructure experience: AWS or GCP, Terraform or similar, containers, and CI/CD.</p> </li> <li> <p>Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar.</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience shipping systems that move real money for real users, with the reliability bar that implies.</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Marketplace or gig platform experience (Uber, TaskRabbit, DoorDash, or similar).</p> </li> <li> <p>Fintech background (Square, Stripe, DailyPay, or similar).</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with media storage and processing pipelines at scale.</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience as the first or only infrastructure owner on a small team.</p> </li> </ul> <p>The US base salary range for this full-time position is $200,000 - $400,000 per year. </p> <p>The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
