We are seeking a talented and motivated <strong>Medical Assistant </strong>to support our providers with both clinical and administrative tasks. This role includes rooming patients, assisting with dermatologic procedures, documenting in the EMR as a clinical scribe, supporting patient education, and performing front office duties as needed. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, clinical accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.</p> <p><strong>Compensation Range: </strong></p> <ul> <li>$18.00 - $22.00/hr</li> </ul> <p data-pm-slice="1 3 []"><strong>Schedule: (</strong><em>Schedule and hours are subject to change based on provider and clinical needs)</em></p> <p data-pm-slice="1 3 []"><strong></strong></p> <ul> <li data-pm-slice="1 3 []">4-days [~32 hours per week] <ul> <li data-pm-slice="1 3 []"><strong>Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday:</strong> Avon office</li> <li data-pm-slice="1 3 []"><strong>Tuesday:</strong> Lorain office</li> <li data-pm-slice="1 3 []"><strong>Friday</strong>: Off <ul> <li data-pm-slice="1 3 []">No Saturdays required</li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p> <ul> <li>Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs, collect short histories, and update medication lists</li> <li>Prepare exam rooms based on scheduled procedures and anticipate provider needs.</li> <li>Assist providers with biopsies, excisions, surgical procedures, and other dermatologic treatments</li> <li>Scribe for providers during patient visits, accurately documenting clinical notes, treatments, diagnoses, and patient instructions directly into the EMR in real time.</li> <li>Maintain and update patient records, charts, and EMR documentation to meet compliance standards</li> <li>Educate patients regarding provider instructions, treatment plans, post-procedure care, and medication usage</li> <li>Monitor and complete lab documentation, biopsy/culture logs, telephone encounters, and task queues in the EMR</li> <li>Handle clinical phone calls, follow up on biopsy results, and communicate with patients under provider direction</li> <li>Perform autoclave procedures, maintain sterility standards, and complete quality control checks</li> <li>Complete assigned administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, scanning documents, answering phones, and processing prior authorizations</li> <li>Travel to nearby Apex Skin locations as needed to support clinical operations.</li> <li>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li> <li>Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectively</li> <li>Customer service mindset with professionalism and patient focus</li> <li>Proficiency in basic computer software, medical terminology, and EMR documentation</li> <li>Ability to document clinical information accurately as a scribe (training provided)</li> <li>2+ years of Medical Assistant experience preferred (dermatology experience is a plus)</li> <li>Active CMA, RMA, or Medical Assistant certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field preferred, but not required</li> <li>Prior clinical scribe experience is helpful, but not required</li> </ul> <p><strong>Career Growth Opportunities</strong></p> <p>Motivated <strong>Medical Assistants</strong> may pursue:</p> <ul> <li>Surgical or Mohs assistant roles</li> <li>Aesthetic support roles (laser, cosmetic procedures)</li> <li>Lead MA or clinical trainer responsibilities</li> <li>Cross-training in reception, lab coordination, or clinical support</li> <li>Supervisory or clinical operations pathways over time</li> <li>Apex Skin provides training, mentoring, and development opportunities for individuals who demonstrate skill, reliability, compassion, and clinical accuracy</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Requirements & Work Environment</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting</li> <li>Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, instrument preparation, and documentation</li> <li>Ability to speak and hear clearly when interacting with patients and team members</li> <li>Visual acuity suffici
