In this dynamic role, you will play a critical role in informing and engaging our viewers with the latest developments in the ever-evolving world of business and technology.</p> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, or a related field (preferred).</li> <li>Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in broadcast journalism, with a strong focus on business and/or technology reporting.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in conducting on-camera interviews and delivering engaging reports.</li> <li>Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and error-free copy.</li> <li>Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify and understand complex information.</li> <li>A history of working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.</li> <li>Familiarity with business and technology terminology and concepts</li> </ul> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Investigate and report</strong> on a wide range of business and technology stories, including breaking news, in-depth features, and investigative pieces.</li> <li><strong>Conduct thorough research</strong> to gather accurate and insightful information, utilizing various sources like press releases, industry reports, company filings, and interviews with key figures.</li> <li><strong>Develop and write compelling news scripts and guest questions</strong> that are informative, engaging, and adhere to journalistic standards.</li> <li><strong>Conduct on-camera interviews</strong> with business leaders, industry experts, and other relevant individuals, asking insightful questions to draw out valuable information.</li> <li><strong>Deliver clear, concise, and accurate reports</strong> on-air, both in the studio and on location, demonstrating strong on-camera presence and delivery.</li> <li><strong>Stay up-to-date</strong> on the latest trends and developments across the business and technology landscape.</li> <li><strong>Collaborate effectively</strong> with other members of the news team, including producers, editors, and other reporters, to develop and deliver high-quality content.</li> </ul> <p><strong>PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with sources and interview subjects.</li> <li>A natural on-camera presence with strong presentation and delivery skills.</li> </ul> <p><strong>EDUCATION</strong></p> <p>Bachelor’s degree required</p> <p><strong>COMPENSATION</strong></p> <p>For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Cheddar includes a reasonable estimate of the salary for this role. This accounts for the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications. <br><br>The salary range for this role is $65 to $75 per hour. </p>
