You can become an expert tutor in either or both. You choose!</p> <p>As a Reading Tutor at Braintrust Tutors, you will work with elementary and middle school students in a school setting to strengthen their reading comprehension, fluency, and critical thinking skills. Using our structured intervention programs and materials, you will deliver consistent, high-impact tutoring that meets each student where they are. </p> <p>As a Math Tutor at Braintrust Tutors, you will work with students to strengthen their mathematical reasoning, number sense, and problem-solving strategies. You will provide engaging, consistent lessons using Braintrust Tutors curriculum and materials to help students build foundational math skills and confidence. </p> <p>As an in-person tutor, we will prioritize matching you with those engagements. However, you may be considered for additional online roles if you would like to fill in your schedule with us.</p> <p>Opportunity Details:</p> <ul> <li>Applications are considered on a rolling basis for current and upcoming Engagements</li> <li>Engagements are assigned after successful completion of all onboarding requirements</li> </ul> <p>Current Opening:</p> <ul> <li>Location:Queens, NY 11434</li> <li>ELL Certified and NYC PETs Cleared</li> </ul> <p>Employment Type: This is a part-time contractor 1099 role</p> <p>Our typical schedule and availability requirements vary by engagement, but here are some general guidelines:</p> <ul> <li>12-14 weeks</li> <li>Opportunities in the Fall (Oct to Dec) and Spring (Jan to Jun) semesters</li> <li>School-day hours</li> </ul> <p>In-person Tutor Schedule:</p> <ul> <li>3/4 days per week - 30/45 minute sessions, 3-5 sessions/day</li> </ul> <p>Pay Rate: $60/hour, prorated by session<br><br><strong>To be considered, interested applicants must be available for the entire schedule.</strong></p> <p><strong>More specifics, depending on location, will be shared during the selection process.</strong></p> <p><strong>What You Will Do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide small-group or 1:1 reading/math tutoring to students developing literacy skills</li> <li>Implement Braintrust Tutors intervention programs as designed, using all materials with fidelity</li> <li>Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly</li> <li>Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance</li> <li>Collaborate with the Braintrust Tutors Operations team and school staff to support student growth</li> <li>Foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment that promotes focus and confidence</li> <li>Follow school-site procedures and policies while maintaining a professional and dependable presence</li> <li>Use the provided assessments and progress monitoring tools for understanding to guide instruction</li> <li>Manage time effectively during sessions to complete all planned instructional activities</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Will Have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field</li> <li>Active/expired teaching license or at least 5 years of experience working with K-8 students in an educational environment</li> <li>(READING) Experience with reading instruction that includes morphology-based word study, vocabulary development, reading comprehension strategies, and writing skills covering grammar, syntax, and multi-paragraph composition using a structured scope and sequence.</li> <li>(MATH) Knowledge of math instruction that builds number sense, procedural fluency, and problem-solving skills, with a scope and sequence ranging from counting to multi-digit arithmetic, including decimals and fractions.</li> <li>Strong classroom management and communication skills</li> <li>Comfort collaborating with teachers and staff</li> <li>Punctuality, professionalism, and reliability for all scheduled sessions</li> <li>Reliable transportation and/or appropriate technology for instruction</li> <li>A laptop with Windows or macOS that uses either Chrome/Edge Chrome 115+ (recommended), Firefox 115+, or Safari 16+. iPads are also acceptable with iOS 17 or greater with an external keyboard</li> <li>Passion for literacy and closing opportunity gaps</li> </ul> <p><strong>Next Steps!</strong></p> <p>For in-person engagements, if you meet our requirements, we will invite you to join us for a live 45-minute intervi
