Take necessary steps to stop work if continuing the activity is unsafe or will create and unsafe condition. •  Understands site policies and procedures to service, troubleshoot, conduct repairs and maintenance on various systems, apparatus, and equipment including wet, dry, deluge, fire pumps, and electrical components. Assists senior personnel to disassemble, inspect, and repair equipment that requires specialized knowledge or is exceptionally hazardous. •  Applies NFPA codes and standards to mitigate fire and safety risks. •  Conducts visual and manual inspections and system tests including control valve functions to verify alarm and sprinkler systems are operating properly. •  Tests, diagnoses moderately complex problems, troubleshoots, and services fire detectors, fire alarms, fire doors and panels, and other fire control containment equipment. •   Liaises with internal and external representatives to test fire pumps and identify and clarify issues with fire protection systems. •   Interprets blueprints, diagrams, and operational materials to resolve issues. •  Generates standard and ad hoc reports and utilizes corrective action systems and processes to report issues and findings. •  Operates motorized vehicles and associated equipment within policy and licensing limits. •  Performs administrative functions as needed. •  Meets and performs the physical requirements of the job duties, which may include lifting/handling up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending, twisting, exposure to extreme temperatures, wearing protective clothing/equipment (including respiratory) and meeting radiological control requirements. •  Acquire and maintain NICET level 2 certifications: Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems, Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems, and Special Hazards Systems. •  Other duties as assigned.
