You will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for designing, developing, and evolving a next-generation, cloud-native card issuing and payment processing platform built on microservices, APIs, and event-driven architecture, leveraging APIs, event-driven architectures, AWS services, and real-time authorization capabilities. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will provide technical leadership, drive innovation, and influence architectural direction while ensuring operational excellence across the platform.</p> <p>This is a full-time, individual-contributor role at the Senior Advisor level. The position is fully onsite in Coral Springs, Florida, Monday through Friday, and includes up to 20% travel to client locations across Latin America (including Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Panama, and Argentina).</p> <p><strong>What You Will Do</strong></p> <p><strong>Technical Leadership & Architecture</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead the architecture, design, development, and implementation of software applications supporting a cloud-native card issuing and payment processing platform.</li> <li>Influence technical roadmaps, solution strategies, and architectural decisions across multiple initiatives.</li> <li>Champion best practices in cloud-native development, system scalability, operational resilience, and continuous improvement.</li> <li>Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers across teams, helping to elevate overall technical capabilities.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Engineering Standards & Quality</strong></p> <ul> <li>Author technical specifications that development teams can build from, translating architecture into clear, actionable designs.</li> <li>Define environment promotion criteria that go beyond code quality — including performance, security, resilience, and operational readiness — and establish them as formal quality gates.</li> <li>Set standards for API test automation and quality gates (RestAssured, Karate, Postman/Newman) across teams.</li> <li>Own the platform’s REST and event-driven integration patterns — RabbitMQ, webhooks, and retry/idempotency design — at enterprise scale.</li> <li>Ensure high standards for coding, testing, debugging, performance, security, and application reliability.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement</strong></p> <ul> <li>Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.</li> <li>Serve as a trusted technical advisor and subject matter expert for platform initiatives and client engagements.</li> <li>Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to clients, executive leadership, global teams, and CIO-level stakeholders.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Bring</strong></p> <p><strong>Education</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, professional experience, and/or military experience totaling 15+ years.</li> <li>Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>12+ years of experience in software development, solution delivery, software architecture, or related technology disciplines.</li> <li>7+ years of experience providing technical leadership, architecture guidance, or serving as a lead engineer on complex enterprise initiatives.</li> <li>7+ years of hands-on experience with Java, C, C#, C++, or similar object-oriented programming languages.</li> <li>7+ years of experience working with SQL databases and data management solutions.</li> <li>3+ years of experience designing and implementing solutions utilizing AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).</li> <li>3+ years of experience working within Agile development environments and methodologies.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Technical Expertise</strong></p> <ul> <li>Deep expertise in Java/Spring Boot, with the ability to set coding and architectural standards across teams.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Languages</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or Portuguese.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Certifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>No certifications are required for this role.
