Its work gets published and wins awards, and it is now looking for a creative maverick to own how that work is told. The studio is opening the seat that owns it: you shape the communication that carries the studio's design into the world, producing the work yourself and directing a junior who produces alongside you, with the Principal stepping in only to steer and approve. Graphic judgement is the heart of the role. Requirements Key Responsibilities • Design Communication: Develop compelling project narratives, visual imagery, diagrams, presentations, and other communication materials that effectively showcase the studio’s architectural and design work. • Graphic Design & Art Direction: Establish and maintain high visual standards across all outputs. Execute design work independently where required and provide clear graphic direction to the junior team member. • Social Media Management: Plan, create, schedule, publish, and review content across the studio’s social media channels, ensuring a consistent and engaging brand presence. • Presentation & Portfolio Design: Create and maintain presentation decks, portfolio layouts, pitch materials, and reusable templates aligned with the studio’s visual identity. • Team Coordination: Guide the junior team member, review deliverables, and ensure quality, consistency, and timely execution. • Content Collaboration: Coordinate with Lead Architects and project teams to source drawings, project details, images, and other relevant information. • Publications & Awards: Prepare and refine communication materials for design publications, award submissions, press coverage, and other external opportunities. • Archive Management: Organise and maintain the studio’s project archive and image library, ensuring assets are accessible, accurate, and ready for publication. First 90-Day Expectations Month 1: Understand and Plan • Understand the studio’s projects, communication style, and visual language. • Audit existing content, social media channels, and project archives. • Develop a first-quarter content plan in consultation with the Principal. Month 2: Create and Establish • Begin producing and publishing content consistently. • Establish templates and a cohesive visual communication system. • Set graphic direction for the junior team member and review their work. Month 3: Take Ownership • Independently manage the day-to-day design communication function. • Maintain a consistent publishing schedule and high-quality visual output. • Support hiring and business development through clear, compelling studio presentations and materials. Required Skills & Qualifications • 4–6 years of experience in design communication, content development, or graphic design within a design-led organisation or practice. • Strong graphic design skills, with the ability to execute creative work and direct others. • Experience developing visual content from architectural, interior design, or related creative projects, supported by a relevant portfolio. • Practical experience managing social media for a brand, studio, or professional practice. • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, along with presentation design tools. • Ability to guide a junior team member, provide constructive feedback, and maintain quality standards. • Strong communication, coordination, and organisational skills, with the ability to take ownership and work independently. • A degree or background in Communication Design, Graphic Design, Architecture with a strong graphic design practice, or an equivalent field. • Willingness to work full-time from the studio in Mumbai. Good-to-Have Skills • Background in architecture or interior design. • Strong writing, storytelling, and editorial skills. • Experience creating video or motion-based content. • Familiarity with content planning, brand communication, and visual storytelling. Who May Not Be the Right Fit • Candidates with a content strategy background but limited graphic design skills or unwillingness to own visual direction. • Pure graphic designers who lack an understanding of architectural or design-led work. • Candidates seeking hybrid or remote arrangements, as this is an in-studio role. • Individuals who require constant direction instead of independently managing responsibilities. • Candidates whose compensation expectations fall outside the stated range.
