You will help build and scale internal and client-facing data products that support retail <strong>media and e-commerce operations</strong>, with a strong focus on <strong>automation, AI-enabled workflows, and pragmatic tool development. </strong></p> <p>This role is hands-on and product-oriented: you will <strong>extend existing tools, ship new tools end-to-end</strong>, and work closely with Data Scientists, BI Engineers, and Data Delivery to ensure what we build is reliable, secure, and adopted by users.</p> <h2>What you’ll be doing:</h2> <ul> <li><strong>Build and evolve web applications</strong>: Add features to existing tools and develop new internal/client-facing tools from scratch (UI, backend services, and integrations).</li> <li><strong>Develop data-centric services and APIs</strong>: Create robust backend services that connect to data warehouses/lakes, third-party APIs, and internal datasets to power decision workflows and reporting.</li> <li><strong>Automation & reporting tooling</strong>: Build automation for reporting workflows (scheduling, configuration-driven pipelines, exports, alerts, and notifications).</li> <li><strong>Content matching and enrichment tools:</strong> Implement systems that match/enrich content across catalogs and channels using rules + ML/AI where appropriate (deduping, similarity matching, classification).</li> <li><strong>Web scraping utilities (where permitted):</strong> Design scraping/collection tools with strong engineering practices (rate limits, retries, monitoring), aligned with legal/compliance and platform terms. </li> <li><strong>AI-assisted tools and integrations: </strong></li> <li>Build <strong>AI chat tools</strong> connected to internal knowledge and systems using <strong>MCP (Model Context Protocol)</strong> <strong>servers </strong>and tool/function calling.</li> <li>Implement AI features in existing dashboards and tools (explanations, insight summaries, anomaly narratives, guided exploration), with human-in-the-loop and quality safeguards.</li> <li><strong>Cloud-native delivery:</strong> Develop and deploy on AWS and/or GCP (CI/CD, containers, secrets management, logging/monitoring).</li> <li><strong>Quality, reliability, and security:</strong> Write tests, perform code reviews, apply secure coding practices, and ensure performance and maintainability in production.</li> </ul> <h2>What we want from you:</h2> <ul> <li><strong>5+ years</strong> building production web applications as a full stack developer/software engineer (seniority flexible; we care about real shipped systems).</li> <li>Strong <strong>Java </strong>backend development experience (e.g., Spring Boot or similar), including API design and service architecture.</li> <li>Strong <strong>Python </strong>development experience (e.g., FastAPI/Flask, automation, integrations, data-heavy services).</li> <li>Experience with scraping frameworks (Playwright/Selenium/Scrapy) and building compliant, resilient collectors.&
