Our stack centers on Java 25, Spring, GraphQL, NoSQL, Kubernetes, Kafka and AWS.</p> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1077" data-local-id="ddc29a6cef9d">If you're passionate about understanding user behavior at scale and want to help shape how New Relic's classic and agentic experiences adapt to the people using them, we want to hear from you.</p> <p style="line-height: 1.2;"><strong><br>What you'll do<br></strong></p> <ul class="ak-ul" data-local-id="7b1dc1d932f7" data-indent-level="1"> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1289" data-local-id="d6695be0a9d8">Own the architecture and technical direction of a significant, moderately-scoped service within the behavioral data platform, from design through delivery</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1447" data-local-id="65f00395ebbe">Champion the delivery of full components and support the lead engineer in coordinating feedback and work across the team</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1571" data-local-id="64c4cc658d5f">Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders and customer teams to clarify requirements and distill them into a clear technical plan</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1710" data-local-id="89b5fc6ff817">Identify and mitigate technical risks (including gaps against SLAs or other reliability commitments) before they become production issues</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1851" data-local-id="3a014d7245c8">Facilitate healthy, data-driven design debates, making sure the team explores multiple options and weighs trade-offs before committing</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1989" data-local-id="0a56fe4a29f1">Provide technical direction and mentorship to less experienced engineers, and act as an expert operator of the services you own</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2120" data-local-id="9dc854aab184">Contribute to improving team processes so we can deliver quality software regularly and incrementally</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2225" data-local-id="1398354b8b87">Actively use AI coding assistants and agents in your own workflow, and help set the standard for how the team adopts them</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2350" data-local-id="2d27135ffb92">Help organize and lead technical communities of practice, not just participate in them</p> </li> </ul> <p style="line-height: 1.2;"><strong>This role requires<br></strong></p> <ul class="ak-ul" data-local-id="491a9fb130ab" data-indent-level="1"> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2462" data-local-id="acc416c583ee">Deep, hands-on expertise in Java and backend service design, with a track record of delivering production code that follows solid security, reliability, and maintainability practices</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2648" data-local-id="dea4c6de78be">Experience building and operating Kafka-based streaming pipelines and services in a cloud (AWS) production environment</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2770" data-local-id="5292526c946a">Strong experience with distributed systems, concurrency, and scaling, including diagnosing and resolving complex production issues</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2904" data-local-id="fb75af45daae">A track record of mentoring engineers and providing constructive direction in code reviews and design discussions</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="3021" data-local-id="2fdf91fede38">Comfortable partnering directly with product managers and stakeholders to shape technical scope from ambiguous requirements</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="3148" data-local-id="0b126d34181e">Sound judgment in selecting the right approach on issues of moderate to broad scope</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="3235" data-local-id="2aa93b47c4ff">Excellent written
