You will evolve the <strong>robust Java/Spring Boot backend services</strong> that power our platform, while building the responsive frontend interfaces for our Admin and User portals.</li> <li><strong>Build Enterprise-Grade Workflows:</strong> Create <strong>powerful backend engines</strong> and supporting UIs for complex business domains, such as configuring travel policies, visualizing approval chains, and managing user roles/permissions.</li> <li><strong>Build Data-Driven Services:</strong> Architect and scale APIs and data services that manage high volumes of data, ensure <strong>transactional integrity</strong>, and power reporting features and seamless integrations.</li> <li><strong>Own Features End-to-End:</strong> Take technical ownership of a problem domain, facilitating the design, development, and launch of key <strong>microservices</strong> and features that have a direct impact on our users.</li> <li><strong>Collaborate Across Teams:</strong> Work cross-functionally with various engineering, product, and design teams to deliver complex, cross-domain features in a collaborative environment.</li> <li><strong>Drive the Vision:</strong> Partner with engineering and product leadership to identify, plan, and execute the long-term technical vision for your domain and be a subject matter expert.</li> <li><strong>Champion Best Practices:</strong> Contribute to a culture of technical excellence by writing high-quality, well-tested code, mentoring other engineers, and advocating for best practices in <strong>testing, monitoring, and operational reliability</strong>.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We’re Looking For:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>2-4 years of experience</strong> in software development, with a strong focus on full-stack web applications in fast-paced SaaS environments.</li> <li><strong>Backend Architecture:</strong> Deep, hands-on experience in server-side development using <strong>Java and Spring Boot</strong>. Skilled in <strong>data modeling, query optimization</strong>, and designing secure, scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.</li> <li><strong>Frontend Engineering:</strong> Solid experience in modern frontend development using <strong>React</strong>, <strong>Angular</strong>, or Vue, along with proficiency in <strong>TypeScript</strong>, state management, and building seamless API-driven user interfaces.</li> <li><strong>Full-Stack Integration & Architecture:</strong> Proven expertise bridging frontend user experiences with backend microservices, distributed systems, and cloud platforms like AWS.</li> <li><strong>Collaborative Ownership:</strong> Demonstrates strong ownership and a collaborative mindset, with clear communication skills and a proven ability to ship production-quality code equipped with robust monitoring and documentation.</li> <li><strong>AI-Enabled Workflow:</strong> Ability to effectively leverage AI development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, CodeGPT, Claude, and Cursor) to accelerate development and innovate on engineering workflows.</li> <li><strong>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree</strong> in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on experience.</li> </ul> <p><br><br></p><div class="content-conclusion"><p> </p> <p>Navan uses AI-assisted Automated Employment Decision Tool (Metaview) to assist with evaluating resumes against job qualifications for this role.
