We bridge deep software architecture with business strategy, building scalable platform environments that leverage <strong>AI-Powered Process Automation</strong> to solve mission-critical operational challenges.</p> <h2><strong>The Opportunity</strong></h2> <p>As a <strong>Principal Technical Consultant</strong>, you will assume architectural leadership for multi-application platform design, execution, and performance optimization. Top engineering talent joins Appian in this role to move beyond basic application maintenance and ensure applications are resilient, scalable, and built to power mission-critical operations at enterprise scale .</p> <h2><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></h2> <ul> <li><strong>Architect Platform Scalability:</strong> Build and maintain standards and tools to ensure high performance and resilience with a focus on reusability, schema optimization, <strong>data modeling</strong>, system performance, and responsive <strong>UX/UI</strong>.</li> <li><strong>Engineered Integrations:</strong> Perform hands-on design, development, and code reviews using <strong>SQL views</strong>, <strong>stored procedures</strong>, and high-concurrency <strong>REST/SOAP web services/APIs</strong>.</li> <li><strong>System-Level Troubleshooting:</strong> Rapidly isolate performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, resource contention, and latency spikes across the entire web application stack.</li> <li><strong>Performance Analysis & Profiling:</strong> Analyze database execution plans, JVM/memory utilization, and <strong>Locust</strong> load test outputs to resolve root-cause architectural bottlenecks.</li> <li><strong>Technical Communication & Enablement:</strong> Translate complex system diagnostics into strategic recommendations for technical stakeholders, while mentoring junior developers on <strong>DevSecOps</strong> and coding standards.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></h2> <ul> <li><strong>Bachelor’s Degree</strong> in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or Mathematics.</li> <li><strong>10+ years</strong> of progressive IT experience, including <strong>8+ years</strong> of specialized experience in enterprise web application architecture, deployment, and delivery.</li> <li><strong>Technical Leadership:</strong> Proven track record of leading technical teams through the full SDLC, gathering non-functional requirements, and defining production readiness strategies.</li> <li><strong>Core Engineering Stack:</strong> Deep, hands-on expertise in <strong>Python</strong> and <strong>SQL</strong>, supported by strong proficiency in <strong>JavaScript</strong> or <strong>Java</strong>.</li> <li><strong>Data & Middleware Architecture:</strong> Advanced experience designing relational data models (<strong>SQL Server</strong>, <strong>Oracle</strong>, or <strong>MariaDB</strong>), custom <strong>APIs</strong>, and middleware/ESB orchestration layers.</li> <li><strong>Infrastructure & Testing:</strong> Solid foundational experience with web infrastructure, containerization using <strong>Kubernetes</strong>, <strong>DevSecOps</strong> pipelines, and test automation tools (<strong>Selenium</strong>), alongside performance, load, and penetration testing methodologies.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Experience collaborating within high-velocity, cross-functional agile engineering environments.</li> <li>Practical exposure to modern <strong>Generative AI</strong> integrations, <strong>LLM</strong> application pipelines, or vector databases.</li> <li><strong>Ecosystem Experience:</strong> We value experience with enterprise platforms such as <strong>Salesforce</strong> or <strong>ServiceNow</strong>, as these skills translate well into our <strong>Enterprise-Grade Orchestration</strong> environment.</li> </ul> <p>#Appian #CustomerSuccess #Python #Kubernetes #SoftwareArchitecture</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><strong>Tools and Resources &l
