We are a mission-driven company with a culture of urgency, accountability and transparency.</p> <p><strong>About This Role</strong></p> <p>General Matter is looking for an experienced IT Manager with strong knowledge and experience across IT technologies to support our growing site in Paducah, KY. The IT Manager will oversee the company's IT systems, implement best practices, and drive technology initiatives that align with our business goals. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our infrastructure scales as we grow while maintaining security, efficiency, and reliability. The ideal candidate will be flexible and flourish in a fast paced and challenging environment and will exercise a high degree of responsibility for the processes, systems, and tools you create and manage; all supporting the goal of ensuring the country has the fuel it needs to power its nuclear reactors. </p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Work closely with General Matter engineers to gather requirements, research, evaluate, design, plan, deploy, and support Microsoft enterprise software platforms and related technologies in a world-class environment that meets the needs of the demanding General Matter engineering teams.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Manage and maintain highly resilient, high-performance, scalable, and flexible systems.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Make recommendations, justify, and implement improvements using an accepted change control methodology.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Work within diverse groups to design and deliver creative solutions and resolve problems in a timely and proactive manner by interacting with internal business units.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Define, document and follow standards and best practices for systems design, testing, and implementation.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Responsible for the health of the IT core infrastructure: </span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Ensure uptime of critical systems to the business</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Drive improvements to optimize security and performance of the infrastructure</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Build automation at scale to improve overall efficiency</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> </ul> <p><strong>Basic Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering discipline with 3+ years of systems administration experience; OR 5+ years of professional systems administration experience in lieu of a degree.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Experience with servers in physical and virtualized environments.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">5+ years of experience with Active Directory, Kerberos, Entra ID, and multi-platform authentication/identification environments</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">5+ years of experience (including the ability to setup, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot) with Windows-based systems and services in both physical and virtual environments.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">5+ years of experience in monitoring mission-critical enterprise environments</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Skills and Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Expertise in creating repeatable, reliable, scalable systems architectures, with high availability, fault tolerance, performance tuning, monitoring, and statistics/metrics collection.</li> <li>Understanding of developing web, python, Powershell, and bash scripting applications and build processes.</li> <li>Experience with linux administration.</li> <li>Experience with automation platforms (Ansible, Salt, Chef).</li> <li>Networking experience in IPv4, IPSEC VPN, SSL-VPN, SD-WAN, switching, routing, firewalls and HA architecture.</li> <li>Comfortable working with mission critical and sensitive systems, with a sense of urgency appropriate to the responsibilities.</li> <l
