Senior Software Engineer

<div><strong>The Basics (Hybrid Role - Part-time in office)</strong><br>As a Tanium Senior Software Engineer focused on platform development, you will build and maintain best-of-breed services that power products as part of a nimble development team. Tanium focuses on a customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning. When new product ideas are identified, our software engineers design, develop, test, and deploy the products and supporting services from the ground up, while iterating with product management and customers for feedback and input.</div> <div> </div> <div><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong><em>This position follows the Company’s hybrid schedule which currently requires employees to work in the office at one of the following locations a minimum of <span style="text-decoration: underline;">three</span> days per week: Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; or Emeryville, CA</em></strong></span></div> <div><br><strong>What you’ll do</strong></div> <ul> <li>Build and maintaining Tanium's servers and client alongside a highly agile development team</li> <li>Focus on a strong customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning </li> <li>Design, develop and test new product ideas from the ground up while working with product management for feedback and input</li> </ul> <div><strong>We’re looking for someone with</strong><br>Education</div> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience</li> <li>CS Degree or related technical field preferred</li> </ul> <div>Experience</div> <ul> <li>7+ years industry experience, 10+ preferred</li> <li>Advanced knowledge of C++</li> <li>Experience designing and building high-performance, secure, scalable, observable, supportable, and maintainable backend services and APIs </li> <li>Experience with public cloud technologies (e.g. AWS or Azure) </li> <li>Experience with cryptographic primitives, TLS, PKI </li> <li>Experience with HTTP API design and development </li> <li>Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like git, GHA and Jenkins</li> <li>Demonstrated experience integrating AI tools and technologies into software development, including AI-assisted coding and prompt engineering.</li> </ul> <div>Other</div> <ul> <li>Demonstrates sound judgment for balancing between rapid development, and long-term code maintainability and supportability</li> <li>Communicates effectively, both technically and non-technically, as well as in written and oral forms</li> <li>Believes in the power of and the need for writing automated tests as part of development</li> <li>Skilled debugger who can put out fires under pressure when things go wrong in production environments</li> <li>Has knowledge of a variety of modern software frameworks (server side & browser side) and the versatility to learn new tools</li> <li>Detail-oriented and passionate for creating an awesome user experience</li> </ul> <p><strong>About Tanium </strong></p> <div> <p>Tanium is the Autonomous IT company.
