Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack

<p><strong>The Basics (Hybrid Role - Part-time in office)</strong></p> <p>As a Full-Stack Senior Software Engineer at Tanium, you will build and maintain best-of-breed products as part of a nimble development team. Tanium focuses on a customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning. When new products ideas are identified, our software engineers design, develop, test, and deploy the products from the ground up, while iterating with product management and customers for feedback and input. This is a full-stack role that requires solid backend and frontend programming skills. </p> <p><strong><em>This position follows the Company’s hybrid schedule which currently requires employees to work in the Durham, NC, Emeryville, CA, Addison, TX or Bellevue, WA office three days per week.</em></strong></p> <p><strong>What you'll do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Build and maintain Tanium's products alongside an agile development team</li> <li>Design, develop and test new product ideas from the ground up while working with product management for feedback and input</li> <li>Work on small teams that tackle big challenges in common components like a common data service tasked with unifying and consolidating endpoint data across the entire ecosystem, handling time series data that drive dashboarding and reporting, and exposing data externally through GraphQL enabling partners (like Salesforce) to easily integrate</li> <li>Delivering higher level services enabled by our core services that directly enable our products and focus on everything from security to operations to auditing</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience</li> <li>CS Degree preferred</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years industry experience</li> <li>Experience designing and building high-impact, high-performance, scalable, observable, and maintainable backend services and APIs </li> <li>Knowledge of at least one of Golang (preferred), Node.js, or other modern programming languages.</li> <li>Experience with React, Typescript, Javascript, and other front-end technologies and frameworks </li> <li>Ability to work with relational databases such as Postgres, SQL, or MySQL</li> <li>Experience with HTTP API design and development</li> <li>Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like git and Jenkins</li> <li>Demonstrated experience integrating AI tools and technologies into software development, including AI-assisted coding and prompt engineering.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Other</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates sound judgment for balancing between rapid development, long-term code maintainability and supportability</li> <li>Believes in the power of and the need for writing automated tests as part of development</li> <li>Experienced debugger who can put out fires under pressure when things go wrong in production environments</li> <li>Has knowledge of a variety of modern software frameworks (server side & browser side) and the versatility to learn new tools</li> </ul> <p><strong>About Tanium </strong></p> <div> <p>Tanium is the Autonomous IT company.
